The South Bay
LA’s South Bay hugs the lower shores of Santa Monica Bay from El Segundo to Palos Verdes and is bordered north by LAX, and, generally, by the city of Los Angeles to the east. Residents and visitors alike enjoy the warm weather year-round, and miles of bike and walking paths and beautiful beaches welcome all.
South Bay is home to many businesses, from independents to international forces such as Boeing, SpaceX, Honda, Chevron, and DirectTV. The Port of Los Angeles is one of the busiest in the United States. Many well-rated and award-winning public and private schools are available to students, in South Bay and neighboring Los Angeles. A wide range of higher education is also available, at institutions such as LA City and El Camino city colleges, Long Beach State, UCLA, Loyola Marymount, Pepperdine and USC.
Diverse restaurants, big box and independent retailers, large and small outdoor and indoor areas provide goods and entertainment for the South Bay.
